Students will learn how to configure routers, interpret routing tables, and troubleshoot connectivity issues. Students are provided hands-on experience with routers and switches in a networked lab environment. The course also covers Wide Area Network WAN technologies and Quality of Service QoS mechanisms used for secure remote access along with the introduction of software-defined networking, virtualization, and automation concepts that support the digitalization of networks.
Students learn how to configure a switch for basic and advanced functionality. Prerequisite s : CISA Topics include installation, boot process configuration, partitions, file systems, network settings, logging services, user account policies, and host security. Lab exercises reinforce the theory and provide opportunities for troubleshooting. Students will learn how to identify risk, to participate in risk mitigation activities, and to provide secure infrastructure to support the three pillars of security confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Students investigate security technologies and products, troubleshoot security events and incidents, and are exposed to applicable policies, laws, and regulations. Ethical values and moral obligations are stressed. Students will monitor the network using various network operating systems tools to respond to security breaches, and acquire the skills to implement basic security services on computer networks.
It focuses on business writing, active listening, and communicating ideas effectively to a target audience. Discussions on the impact of assumptions or bias that people may bring to the workplace, ethics, and business politics will raise student awareness of their interactions and activities. Students will focus on best practices in integrating Virtual LANs VLANs for wired and wireless access, and for data, voice, and real time video applications. Secure, scalable, and highly available solutions for both IPv4 and IPv6 will be explored. The course starts with the fundamentals of wireless communications, explores the operation of stand-alone wireless access points APs , discusses wireless security concepts, and then focuses on controller-based operations.

The course will introduce the theory behind messaging systems, and provide students with hands-on activities to install, maintain, customize, and troubleshoot Microsoft Exchange Server and clients. This course focuses on providing the skills and knowledge necessary to implement Cisco Collaboration and Unified Communication solutions.
This course first explores the traditional telephone system, voice communications, codecs, and voice technology. Other topics that are covered include phone restriction, device configuration, and user access to CUCM.
This course includes practical labs relating to the day to day administration using the Cisco Collaboration solution to complete the common tasks. Students will learn about specific types of security attacks, how to secure switches and routers, and work with the next generation of firewalls NGFW. Students will learn what is new in NGFW and how they can use these technologies to secure the network. This course will provide students with in-depth knowledge and practical experience on current essential security systems.
As they work through the course, students will learn how to redistribute routes, implement path control, provide route filtering, and secure Cisco routers and their operations.
